As in the previous two years, the Gaam Carpi organizes an information day on breastfeeding.
It is aimed at pregnant women, and is also open to prospective fathers, grandmothers and so on. and all who are interested in the subject.
The course is taught by our mothers in Gaam , Trained as peer counselors (peer counselor) according to the manual WHO / UNICEF and subsequent advanced courses.
Mothers who take the course are not health care or professional trainers, so the course is for informational purposes only: you will see how the program will explain why, how, when breastfeeding ... and how to prevent or deal with some common problems.
Saturday, February 12 at the Cathedral Hall
- 8.30: Welcome and registration
- 9.00: Presentation of the course objectives and content
- 9:10 am: physiology of lactation, positioning and attachment for breastfeeding
- 11.00: Break (a light snack will be offered to those present)
- 11.20 am: the milk supply, prevention, recognition and treatment of problems such as sore nipples, sore nipples, engorgement, mastitis
- 12:00 pm : How to know if the baby getting enough milk, the daily management of breastfeeding
- 13.00: lunch break (every participant is held for own account) - please be on time!
- 14.00: the concerns of mothers
- hours 14.20: expression, preservation and administration of breast milk
- 15.00: benefits and "cons" Breastfeeding
- 16.30: for questions and conclusions, expected around 17.30 pm
